Sounds like 1 of 2 things..
1, u've deleted everything in your /bin or /usr/bin directory's.
2, your path no longer includes the /bin or /usr/bin directory's.
to check this cd to the /usr/bin directory and type ./env and see what's in
your path variable. if it's missing those directories then I'd say that's
the prob.
if however it won't run that program when using "./env" then you may have
deleted one or both of the directory's mentioned.
I don't know of anything else that can suddenly stop your normal commands
from not working.. Except perhaps if you have changed the permissions of
the /bin or /usr/bin directory such that users can no longer read them..
This would also stop the commands from working..
