For UNIX networks, the use of the Mailnet (SMTP) account allows
for disconnected SMTP transfers using the ETRN feature during
periodic dialup connections. This allows for a professional,
fully-featured SMTP gateway to operate on your network without
requiring a full-time permanent connection.
Mail which is due for your network is spooled on Zip World's
local mail server until your SMTP gateway makes a connection
with it, and issues the correct commands to flush the queue of
mail due for your
organisation, as well as sending any queued outgoing mail. We
can configure your setup to dial up as often as you want (up to
every 15 minutes) or as infrequently as you want (up to 5
hours).
