It seems there are a lot of newcomers to the list who are using
HTML-enabled mail clients, and not turning this feature off, but also
every now and then someone requests that this feature be turned off.
Personally, I'm using Pine 4.10 which handles basic html OK, even
launching netscape for URLs, etc.
HTML is obviously a pain for some, but nothing is mentioned in the info to
the slug list ("info slug" for majordomo) and there is "#### No intro
available for slug."
Just thought something should be mentioned here, as well as on the list
page of the slug.org.au website, as well as perhaps a kind note of "RTFM"
to minimise the "recursive rm" type messages appearing.
I'm sure most will agree it's good to have newcomers (rather like myself,
who normally just lurks and learns) and it's good to know people are
willing to learn, but perhaps advertising a few of the protocols of both
mailing lists and self-tutelage-before-asking may increase the pleasure of
everyone on the list, as well as the education of newbies.
