Yes, Mike and I were truly amazed. In the "bad old days" when hospitals used mainframes, they really did have a good system of backups and the doctors never had to worry about backups. Seems these days, no-one has told the doctors about backups. It's really something that should be taught as part of research school. Recently, I was chatting to a group of chemistry students at Jenolan Caves. One had brought a laptop with his research on it. I said to him, "Of course, you have backups of your work, haven't you, in case someone steals the laptop". He went bright scarlet. His other collegues teased him. I hope they backed up their work...
