I am attempting to get a 'Dumb' terminal connected to a serial port on
a RH6.0 system.
The /etc/inittab I am using is as follows:
S0:2345:respawn:/sbin/mgetty -r -s 19200 ttyS0 vt100
I had previously used /dev/cua0 to define a serial non-modem device
but this device is rejected under 2.2 kernels as being obsolete.
The '-r' option is supposed to used if direct terminal lines are being
used, however /var/log/mgetty.log.ttyS0 suggestes that mgetty is
failing whilst lowering DTR to reset the modem.
Needless to say, I don't get the results expected on the terminal.
Does anyone have a 'dumb' terminal connected using mgetty that could
share their experience and inittab entry.
