Hmm, I think you'll find that's just the "people amusement device" and the
lift itself runs on solid state contactors with hard coded logic assemblies.
No os to speak of, really.
Whatever logic one runs lifts on, it has to withstand some awful power
excursions!
Speaking of lifts, anyone remember the talking lift in the old IBM pagoda
building at the south end of Sydney Harbour Bridge?
These days they are talking about putting more entertainment devices in
lifts to help stop people from fretting.
Don't know about you but I think a BSoD would make me fret, too. Even if it
was just on the ads.
Maybe we should suggest to Engineers Aust, Otis or someone that even if the
app was just for amusement, people are not amused if it fails in a lift, and
that they should consider a Linux one instead?
