True, but PPP is one of the difficult bits for beginners and it is nice
if a newbie can go home with Linux and surf the web that night with
their newfound O/S. Otherwise some will find that "Geez Linux looks good
but its no good for internet stuff as I can't connect like Windows".

If we had a collection of scripts for the major ISP's (ozemail, telstra,
zip...) and setup their boxes using a phone simulator and just edited
ppp-up/ppp-down and the right /etc/ppp/chat, chap and connect files to
suit their ISP that would be nice.

But yes this does take more time. Perhaps NOT getting their PPP up will
encourage them to join SLUG to get the assistance ;-)
