Still no go, I use ( in this order)
cp *.ttf /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/misc
cd /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/misc
ttmkfdir # then it explodes the fonts and lists 12
/usr/sbin/chkfontpath --add /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/misc
xset -fp rehash
/etc/rc.d/init.d/xfs restart
and still no cigar....
