I am curious to know what determines the ttl that is returned by ping
packets.
Pinging from A (RH 6.0) to B (RH 6.1) via Telstra gives a ttl of 250
Pinging from A to C (RH 5.2) via Telstra and B gives a ttl of 58
Pinging from A to D (Digi Portserver) via Telstra and B and C gives a ttl
of 248
It makes no sense to me.
