MTA independence is one of Jason's goals. Will this approach work with
qmail
exim
zmailer
smail
These seem to be the most popular non-sendmail Unix based MTAs
available.
PS There are already solutions for qmail. They involve wrapping
qmail-queue which allows mail from any source to be scanned, whether
injected into the queue manually or via an smtpd daemon.
I'm not qmail tub-thumping here by the way. I'm just trying to mention
some design features that will need to be examined now, before the
project gets too far down the track.
