Comment from someone who has just purchased a townhouse and wanted
optus, but fell foul of this policy was that part of the reason was
that Optus didn't have the cable head to service multiple drops.
Apparently their only cable head is for two outlets and they are
waiting on a 50 outlet version. Well, that was the gumpf from a tech
level discussion.
Seems to me that the above Optus statement is nothing short of stupid.
All they would need is corporate agreement to install the initial
distribution head, which the corporation could pay for, then run feeds
out to each individual unit at the cost of the individual unit holder
as they wanted them.
Off course this is all academic for me as we don't have cable out this
way and does nothing for me, except for that 'we' need real
competition to keep the Telstra monster in check.
