Telstra's on line White Pages list the Sydney 'phone number of the LIC
as 9228 6360 and the Fax number as 9221 5980.
According to a 1996 catalogue the area in question is mapped at a scale
of 1:2000 but I fear you might find the two ends of the link on
different sheets. The Sydney map sales office used to be in the old
Lands Department building in Bridge Street but as the phone number has
changed the address may have also.
The Sydway street directory (and probably the UBD and Gregory's) has the
Australian Map Grid. Your place seems to be about 325920m East 6249520m
North. I haven't visited the shop but from the few street numbers
printed a guess puts it at 326900m East 6250600m North. The distance
between the two would then be a bit under 1.5km in a direction 48 deg
true or say 36 deg magnetic.
Perhaps you could fill Tux with helium and find out how much rope you
have to pay out for him to be visible from the other end.
