Just an idea I had while I should have been sleeping... I wonder how feasible it would be to design a general Linux TV commercial including demos of applications, a bit about remote support, who's using Linux followed by an 'insert company here' bit at the end. The intended use would be by any organisation involved in Linux support. Maybe a group of Linux companies in different locations could pool funds to get a 30 second commercial aired with thier contact details. Hang on.... a better idea would be to promote a generic website where those that pay get listed, that way production costs of the video are kept down. Sorry for thinking as I type.. here's the idea:- 1) Get a bunch of organisations together to do the linux video. Maybe MPEG or AVI or other 'video' demos. 2) Get it put onto broadcast quality Beta video (or whatever it is TV stations use these days). 3) Do a web page which includes the video 4) Invite companies to put up money to get the commercial aired on National TV in a pre-agreed timeslot and channel. 5) Cinemas could also air the commercial... maybe a lot cheaper? 6) The soundtrack might also be suitable for Radio but then you could make your own up cheap enough. ---<GRiP>--- Grant Parnell [EMAIL PROTECTED] ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) Ph: 02-8701-4564 Mob: 0408-686-201 Web: http://www.poboxes.com/gripz No Microsoft products were used in the production of this message. -- SLUG - Sydney Linux Users Group Mailing List - http://www.slug.org.au To unsubscribe send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with unsubscribe in the text
