Out of curiosity I've put Debian (slink) on a 1.2G partition, with the
intention of getting to know why the Debian users are so enthusiastic.
The XF86Config setup didn't have the same flexibility as the
Xconfigurator generated one on the main RH install. So I copied an
XF86Config file that works nicely on this machine and tried it.
Now X won't start. It gives an errno 111 (I think), and talks of not being
able to find/setup/connect to the default font path to use the 'fixed
font'. So I give the new XF86Config the same font-path lines as in the
Deb oroginal. Same error. What's going on?
I replaced the original Debian generated file and get the same eroor.
Is this the right forum for this kind of question? Or is there are
DebUsers group (locally)? I rather like what I've seen of Debian and woul
like to make a success of it.
