thanks all,
what i wanted was a quick way to transfer a large compressed file to another
system that is not networked yet.
so just cutting it up to a couple of floppies and then moving them over was
the trick.
cut and cat.
i just didn't know the command to connect them up again.
i would never have thought of cat.
now i know, thanks again all.
