I'm not sure whether reiserFS is actually faster than ext2 at run time,
however the boot speed is mind bogglingly fast compared to having to wait
for fsck on ext2.
Run time performance appears to be outstanding though, but I can only offer
people comparisons between machines of very different architectures.

Does anyone know how reiserFS compares with other journalling filesystems
like XFS?

I can't offer comments about reliability; my machine hasn't been completely
"broken in" and I'm still fiddling with the system.

Regards,

Jill.
