Looking for potatoe. mirroring of straight cd images is a little unpopular, so debian have come up with a kickass way of distributing them. go to http://cdimage.debian.org/ and follow the instructions just because its such a good idea, here's the gist: download a script, which does the following: get packages from your local package mirror append the .deb's in the same order as they appear in the .iso rsync the difference between your appended file, and an "official" .iso (ie, the iso9660 bits) from one of a list of servers. only ~6Mb download! the script then walks your through setting up an rsync server, so you too can offer the official iso's. i plan on having a cd set of the latest potato (+non-US) at the installfest (i'll leave it as late as i can to burn it). -- - Gus -- SLUG - Sydney Linux User Group Mailing List - http://slug.org.au/ More Info: http://slug.org.au/lists/listinfo/slug
