I'm having a problem with my BIND setup. Every so often it just stops
looking things up - the logs have a sudden announcement:

Jul 10 14:47:09 thrud named[6460]: No root nameservers for class IN

and following that there are lots of errors like

Jul 10 14:47:09 thrud named[6460]: sysquery: findns error (SERVFAIL) on ?
        .
        .
Jul 10 15:55:37 thrud named[6460]: sysquery: findns error (SERVFAIL) on pns.dtag.de?
Jul 10 15:55:37 thrud named[6460]: sysquery: findns error (SERVFAIL) on
techfac.techfak.uni-bielefeld.de?
        .
        .

Restarting named fixes this, but I don't want to have to keep doing that!

Any ideas what could be causing this? I recently upgraded to
bind-8.2.2_P5-9, from the latest Redhat RPM, following a security alert,
so that's my prime suspect. Has anyone else had problems?

All my queries should be forwarded to the Uni's central nameserver
(I've got a line
                forwarders { 129.78.64.2; };
in the options section of named.conf).

Danny.
