I just 'upgraded' from RH6.1 to debian potato/woody, and found it fairly
painless, as long as you backup your configs and migrate them across. I kept
a /home/backup with things like /etc and /var/named for reference. Some
things are quite happy just to move straight over (/etc/postfix for
instance), others will need a bit of tweaking (/etc/bind/named* instead of
/etc/named*).

In fact, I found it so painless, I'll be doing it again soon, with a more
'production' server than my little home box!
