Not always; if you want to use something more useful than pipermail
(mailman comes with its own mail archiver) than it'll require some
work. Not all of which I've finished for SLUG.

My only complaint about mailman is that you have to hack the source
to get it to do RFC2369 and I just haven't had time to do that yet.

Mailman's bounce detection is reasonable. Unfortunately a lot of 
slug subscribers seem to be on dialups which aren't on often, so
the mail(s) time host while connecting. We get a message for each
of those.
