Yep - minicom!
My first multiuser experience (*blush*) was hooking up my 386 to a friend's,
both in Linux, through a serial cable across his living room.
Coming from DOS, it was really weird to watch us both doing things on the
machine at the same time. We ended up playing some console game against each
other, across the serial line, him running it on my machine, me on his. I
have no idea what it was called though... It played a bit like 'nibbles'.
Hmm. My 386 is doing the rounds today...
