The web server is not responsible for replying to SQL queries, it does not know
how. However, if your web server running on an operating system,( there are
some that don't, eg Java based web server running on Dallas Semiconductors Java
chip) then it should be able to pass packets backwards and forwards between the
SQL server and your SQL client. This may or may not work if the machine running
the web server has to translate the addresses again, but off the top of my head
I can't think why it shouldn't so it's worth a try.
