Bugger - I hate it when El Presidente' makes sense !!
But the article makes some valid, and even painfully
good, points... Who of us has the almost obligatory
RH / EverythungLinux / SuSE / <insert fav. marteting
hype here> sticker on their car / computer /
workstation ? How much time do we, as acknowledged
Linux "bigots" spekd in the activities mentioned (I'm
talking about the software projects, demoing Linux to
schools, setting it up for charities, etc) ?
Maybe there's a few future SLUG "projects" in here ?
How much would it raise the profile of not only Linux
in general but SLUG other LUG's, to have us set up a
network for, as an example, the Guide Dogs Association -
the media would eat that up, we'd get (hopefully) good
press, and not to forget the "warm and fuzzies" as
well...
And they'd get a kick-ass network for next to nothing...
Plus the BIG bonus - M$ would get "bad" press !!!...:-)
Evilly,
Jon
