Talk about complaints :)
Cable ends 10 houses from me (at end of street) as our development has no
telephone poles , everythings underground. Foxtel guy came by trying to
sell "cable" TV, said we'd never get cable but same was available by
satellite. Told him no good for 'Net as I still have to tie up phone line
(tht's underground too - costs a lot to have a 2nd line installed).
ADSL could also be out as I think that I am more than 3.5 Km from exchange
(next suburb) depending on which way cables run.
Have a friend i Brisbne who has ADSL, runs linux (various distros) BeOs,
and Windoze without problem apparently.
