Cron: Identical interface across all UNIX's. (Actually, small variation
to administrative interface if you happen to be root, but not important
to most people.)
VCRs: Almost every VCR (and certainly, every manufacturer) has a unique
interface.
Cron: Simple, if non-obvious syntax.
VCRs: Non-simple, utterly obscure syntax.
Cron: Ubiquitous.
VCRs: Ubiquitous.
A free VCR to the first person who convinces a major VCR manufacturer to
offer a cron interface to their equipment.
