Ok, I failed to get this working with smb so
I thought I would try with lp....
I have printer setup on 192.168.0.71 and when I
telnet in I can do lpr -Plp0 /etc/motd and it prints.
All well and good. The printcap looks like this
# /etc/printcap
LOCAL ljet2p 300x300 letter {} LaserJet2p Default {}
lp0|lp:\
:sd=/var/spool/lpd/lp0:\
:mx#0:\
:sh:\
:lp=/dev/lp0:\
:if=/var/spool/lpd/lp0/filter:
Now on this machine (192.168.0.70) I can use the RedHat
printtool to setup a remote unix printer..
What do I need to specify as the remote queue?
/var/spool/lpd/lp0?
Below is the printcap from the local machine
Kevin
##PRINTTOOL3## LOCAL TEXT NAxNA letter {} TextPrinter Default {}
lp:\
:sd=/var/spool/lpd/lp:\
:mx#0:\
:sh:\
:lp=/dev/lp0:\
:if=/var/spool/lpd/lp/filter:
##PRINTTOOL3## REMOTE ljet2p 300x300 letter {} LaserJet2p Default {}
lp0:\
:sd=/var/spool/lpd/lp0:\
:mx#0:\
:sh:\
:rm=192.168.0.71:\
:rp=/var/spool/lpd/lp0:\
:if=/var/spool/lpd/lp0/filter:
