Yet other people seem to be using Staroffice on Linux so I thought it might
be just a configuration thing. I think I will have to rtfm again.

a couple of times now I've had staroffice (5.1 or older I think)
running on my linux box but displaying on my Sun, randomly hang the
solaris (2.7 CDE) Xserver.  Very annoying, I have to telnet in
from another machine and kill X on the Sun.  Now I use the
solaris version of Staroffice (5.1a) and it hasn't done anything
wrong yet.
