Some first tools can sort a list for you
and remove duplicates, I haven't been using
Linux for long but I know that under Windows
you can use UltraEdit, under the file menu
there is a SORT command with an option to
remove duplicates. It's worth a try if you
have a Windows machine handy.

I also had a quick look at SORT under Linux,
it doesn't seem to have such a feature,
although you could sort the list and then do
some kind of regular expressions stuff if
that's your thing.
