Howdy all, An update on the list of people participating in IF2K - it's kinda grown! There are still registrations coming in at all hours of the day and night, so I'm sure we won't be short for people to help or vice versa. Yeesh, another one just came in! And I though preparing the numbers beforehand was a good idea... It's certainly gone way beyond counting on one hand. :) Helpers: 4 People who would generally like to help out. Watchers: 10 To 'watch and learn' from the masters (that could be us). Installers: 25 Those doing the dirty work. Talk: 3 Talkers. Note that these are just the registered ones. -------------- Installees: 30 Those in need of Penguin. -------------- TOTAL: 72 So there's an interesting imbalance in the numbers; we actually have a whole lot of installers. Thank you to everyone who signed up! I'm almost certain that more people will arrive on the day unannounced. Sadly, planned advertisement in the newspapers hasn't happened, but we've had some news of promotion elsewhere. The posters have been updated with room numbers and, well, "cost": http://slug.org.au/installfest2000/if2k_poster_a4.pdf.gz [62k] http://slug.org.au/installfest2000/if2k_poster_a4.ps.gz [1MB] If you've put posters up around the place, please give us a yell on the [EMAIL PROTECTED] list. We'd like to know who's lending a hand. :) Talks ----- Times for talks have not been confirmed, thus many of these are rough guesstimates. A final list will be sent to every participant and the usual lists tomorrow. These are only the talks that have been *registered*. There have been others suggested, but not confirmed as yet. Yusuf Pisan will be giving a talk on AI in computer games. Morning. Rodney Gedda and the gang from LinuxWorld.com.au will be giving talks on issues new users will encounter with Linux. 11am and 4pm. Geoffrey Robertson (who teaches Linux at TAFE) has offered to do talks as well as install. Other Stuff ----------- Thanks go to Everything Linux, who will be supplying pizza for lunch. There will be some goodies (read: freebies) there on the day, but you'll have to come along to find out what! :) Thanks, - Jeff -- [EMAIL PROTECTED] ------------------------------- http://linux.conf.au/ -- Ye shall be cursed to fall in love so easily, and yet be so cold of heart as never to express it. -- SLUG - Sydney Linux User Group Mailing List - http://slug.org.au/ More Info: http://slug.org.au/lists/listinfo/slug
