You bet. And there is an Australian organisation based in the ACT doing just
this. Have a look at Computing Assistance Support & Education Inc (CASE) at
http://www.case.org.au I push the benefits of open source for community use
all the time and although I've been just lurking here for year or so (for
educational purposes - well ok, a bit of entertainment as well), I'm sure
the day will come soon when CASE is in Sydney and we will all meet. But even
before then there are opportunities available as CASE was established to
work nationally and we need all the good people we can get.
