I've seen this before, and I had to reboot the other end of the NFS link,
not the one with the hung daemons, before the problem went away. Most
embarrassing.

They seem to have locks on something, since I can't start nfs (or
run exportfs, for that matter).  Running /usr/sbin/rpc.nfsd produces
        nfssvc: Address already in use

Looks like I may have to reboot the machine, ouch.
