There was a problem only if you were going through ipchains and that the
timeouts had to be changed to

/sbin/ipchains -M -S 7200 10 160

Don't know of any other problem like that directly (linux <-> linux)..

this came up not too long ago (months rather than years).
Some setting in telnet if I recall (?).
