I remember reading somewhere that CD-Roms on certain motherboards have to be on
the secondry controller else they wont work. I have had a couple of motherboards
like that in the past (or worked on them) and it can be quite annoying if you
dont know this could be the problem.
Have you tried to set up the cd-rom on the secondry IDE controller, leaving the
primary empty if required? If so, what was the result?
