Hi all:
I have two SuSE 6.4 machines,
marge: no printer
monty: nice brother laser
and I want marge to print to the printer on monty, but I cannot get it
working.
I have set the remote que on marge as:
lp|remote printer on monty:\
:sd=/var/spool/lpd/lp:\
:rm=monty.private.emseng.com.au:\
:rp=lp:\
:bk:sh:mx#0:
and the hosts.lpd on monty as:
#
# hosts.lpd This file describes the names of the hosts which are
# to be considered "equivalent", i.e. which are to be
# trusted enough for allowing remote lpr(1) commands.

# hostname
marge.private.emseng.com.au
The relevant printcap entry on monty is:

I don't really know where to go from here. I tried running lpd on monty with
the -l option, but I can't find the log files.
Any hints?
