I agree, i dont know how people can say a linux install is hard.
Especially redhat or dists similar to redhat ( i think turbolinux
is the best install ive ever seen )

I agree, people should go grab a year old machine, with nice generic
hardware and install redhat 6.2 on it. 

A pentium 2, with a soundblaster 16, a rtl8029 and an s3 cant go wrong.

(depending on the s3, id say a tnt would be a better option, but
not quite as generic)


I guess its not unreasonable to expect to run your new found OS on your
nice new machine. It is somewhat naive to expect any new machines
hardware
to be totally supported.

If you get the latest brand spanking new toys, your going to have to pay
for it
with lots of hours configuring, tailing logs, fiddling with kernel
compiles etc.
even on MS you cant expect the latest cards and gizmos to actually work
well =)
