Darn it all, I just upgraded to X4.0.1 using the new X4.0.1 debs as I was running the binaries only and wanted to make things nice and tidy - my own stoopid fault I guess. I'm getting what I've discovered to be a common error: could not open default font 'fixed' >From scanning archieves this relates to font path problems but /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/misc is in there OK and I've run mkfontdir against it. One thing I do note is that there is no file name containing the word 'fixed' and the fonts.alias file is empty so I'm wondering if there is smoe sort of definition thing not happening. Any clues? Cant run X at all which meakes things a bit hard :) Cheers, Graeme -- SLUG - Sydney Linux User Group Mailing List - http://slug.org.au/ More Info: http://slug.org.au/lists/listinfo/slug
