Hehe. My best trick was to attach - by accident - /var/mail/thom
to an outgoing email in mutt, then realise, unattach it, and
watch all the email in my inbox vanish. Not recommended ;-) 
I now have procmail punting a copy into a seperate mailbox that
I keep on the file server here.
