This may be completly worng, but I believe that the ps2 mouse in
question must support working in serial port mode. So when you plug the
adaptor into any ps2 mouse, that mouse must also support serial. The
microsoft mouse is an example of this. My mouse here states on the back:
Serial-Mouse Port Compatible Mouse 2.0
I also had problem that you are describing but I can't remember if i was
trying to go from serial to ps2 or ps2 to serial.
