Yerp,
installed it and broke it and fixed it a few times now on our devel box
here.
Works fairly well.
I don't like outlook in CWO mode tho. It supports ldap, x.400 smtp thru
sendmail(required) pop3, imap etc.
The outlook support is not native - its thru mapi, which i guess is another
layer of failure. The PC gui admin client is allright. I haven't figured out
the permissions on it yet.
The whole structute of openmail is very much lots of small tools.
About 217 in total that do a variety of different things - one small tool
for each small admin task. If you want me to write up a more detailed review
I'll do it, but my conclusion is:
I'll stick to pop3/smtp simple stuff for smaller clients (up to 5
workstations) and only suggest openmail for clients larger than that or that
need more reliable calendaring than Netfolders can support. I've found about
5 clients to be the limit for netfolders.
Of course for free openmail is a great product. Not too complex to install,
somewhat frustrating admin setup, fairly complex to handle. A fairly complex
system tho. Many different protocols and features are supported. The HP
messageboard seems well populated with helpful, knowledgeable people.
When the right client comes along, I'll push openmail and give you a live
test review if you like.
But for my company, with only 2 perm employees in the office, I'm not
bothering.

Hope that helps,

Dave
