The above is not quite right or I'm mis-reading

Primary IDE Master is /dev/hda = Your RH 6.2 (/dev/hda1) and Mandrake
{/dev/hda5)
Primary IDE Slave is  /dev/hdb = CDROM OR Win95

Secondary IDE Master is /dev/hdc
Secondary IDE Slave is /dev/hdd

You will find that something like /dev/hdX- /dev/hdX15 are probably
already defined.

Perhaps all you need to do is remove/comment/correct out a line line

/dev/hdc6  /mnt/something     blah blah blah

from your /etc/fstab.
