As asked, the MacLUG meetings isn't restricted to X. X is just something
tossed into the ring as the suggested first bone. Specifically X video
timing.

The MacLUG meetings were started for a number of reasons.

1: I wanted to do something local as I think Linux needs to get out into
the Burbs and away from the traditional stamping grounds.

2: I've been-there-done-that for 29 years on organising meetings,
events, etc and I didn't want to take on that load again, so the idea of
a less organised gathering was considered and is being trialled.

3: The format also complements the list, meeting, Fests, etc. I
particularly like the fact that it is more social, less time constrained
and more open in possibilities.

There are also 12 x 240v lights on the workshop ceiling for people who
want to hack process control stuff with their computers.(Yep - we had a
disco here for the kids from the street - well they spent most of the
school holidays in the sand pit, gravel pit, trees and tyre swing - we
had to do something. The funny part was the number of parents, whom we
had not previously met, that found out that "Terry & Wendy" were two of
the "geriatrics"* and not two more kids up the street as they thought).
