To whom it may concern:
I have basic html and vbscript knowledge and I am wanting to make a
searchable database. I have 135 names numbers and addresses that I would
like to make available through a search (like my own little yahoo directory).
Though I want to be able to have it so i can search the entire directory by
full name, number, address or keyword. i would also like to make it so that i
can divide the search amongst different counties. Like a drop down box next
to the search function..where they can choose to search the entire site or a
certain county for their keyword(s) or numbers. I would like it so that i can
search and get search results and if i find the one i want i click on the
link and get the full text(which is name, number, address and a description
of what they do and where they are located[ie. county]). Like i was saying
before, like yahoo or any other search engine. all of my names and numbers
are saved right now as a word file and i need to have them place in a
database. There are 135 names and numbers and probable wont ever get any
bigger than 200 names and numbers.. though along with each name and # is what
the companies do and where they are located and i would like that info to be
avail when someone searches for key words or by county, etc. this is all for
a nonprofit organization. I would also like to have it so that I can update
it without having to contract it out. Where I can update, add a new file or
delete an existing file and when i update or add new or delete the file will
be placed where it belongs by alphabetical order in the search all and in the
proper county that it serves in. the server is sunlink and i have unlimited
space available for my site. How would you do this. You would write it and
then email me the text and then all i would have to do is save the files into
the server as other pages connected to my homepage by a link? i want to know
if this is possible to do and to have on my web site. if so how would i go
about doing it?? and if i wanted to contract it out how much would it cost
and how long would it take?
