Here's something that might interest you:
Deb packages are currently being developed for XF86 4. If you want more
information about it, go to http://www.debian.org/~branden/ .
If you're game enough to try out some of these debs (they're still in
testing), add this line to /etc/apt/sources.list:
deb http://samosa.debian.org/%7Ebranden woody/${ARCH}
