> What are the route settings for:
> - the 10.10.10.x LAN
The default route is 10.10.10.4 (Firewall 1)
> - Firewall 1
10.0.5.4/30 eth1
10.0.5.8/30 eth1
10.0.1.0/24 eth1
10.10.10.0/24 eth0
> - 10.0.5.10
Gateway of last resort is 10.0.5.9 to network 0.0.0.0
10.0.0.0/8 is variably subnetted, 4 subnets, 2 masks
C 10.0.5.8/30 is directly connected, Serial0.1
S 10.10.10.0/24 is directly connected, Ethernet0
is directly connected
S 10.0.1.0/24 [1/0] via 10.0.5.9
C 10.0.5.4/30 is directly connected, Ethernet0
S* 0.0.0.0/0 [1/0] via 10.0.5.9
Items below this should be out of the picture, as the packet drops are
between 10.0.5.10 and firewall 1.
I put a logging on the ipchains for eth1 input, output and forward, and on
eth0 forward.
I noticed that the ping packets follow the following chains:
eth1 forward
eth1 output
eth1 input
eth0 forward
On the packets that are dropped, they don't appear on the eth1 input chain
log however I do see a flash on the tx packet light on the router.
