I have a client with a centralised Linux/sendmail mail server servicing
all of his sites and he has asked me to block the p0rn_by_mail that is
getting in.

We have identified the sites we want to block and it would be simple using
procmail to just dump these emails to /dev/null.

What I would prefer to do though is to respond with a sendmail "User
unknown" type of error so that the payload doesn't arrive. Two reasons,
I don't see why the client should pay for the payload that is being
dropped anyway, and there is always the off-chance that the 'bot might
react to the error message and drop the address from its database.

Is procmail still the way to go here?

All suggestions, and particularly procmail recipes, welcome. Flames about
blocking freedom of expression to /dev/null.

TIA,

Howard.
