Upgrade your motherboard BIOS to one that reports memory size properly.

Alternately, edit /etc/lilo.conf, and add this line
append="mem=256M"
in the top section.
re-run lilo, shutdown, reboot. Should all be OK now.

P.S. You can make the line read
append="mem=260496k"
or whatever the figure your memory count reads for a more accurate
inclusion.
