GCS requires a Field Technician for the Sydney NSW area. The person we are seeking has all the hallmarks of a self-motivated, presentable, field technician for doing the following tasks: * Basic presales consultation. * Basic Unix and NT administration * Provide Sun, Solaris, RAID storage, first level support. * Familiarity with basic antistatic procedures There would be an expected period of orientation while the GCS product range became familiar and there would be some expectation that the principles of Unix and in particular Solaris can be quickly picked up. Experience with Solaris would be required (Linux, or Unix of other flavours are acceptable). Certification in Solaris or equivalent Unix experience would be an advantage. The candidate should ideally have first level experience with diagnosing hardware and software faults as well as project experience in change management. Skills in networking, RAID and SCSI will be an advantage. The salary range for this person will be between $45k and $60k commensurate with abilities and consideration for outstanding candidates outside of this range will be considered.
