Take the red pill, iirc.

You have a couple of choices:

1. Compile yourself and take it out from the packaging system.
If you do, use stow to help manage /usr/local/

2. use unstable and the binaries from unstable; either by looking at
http://incoming.debian.org/ or by putting unstable deb lines in
/etc/apt/source.list

3. use unstable source and recompile the it as a .deb using
dpkg-buildpackage -rfakeroot -us -uc

For this put deb-src lines in /etc/apt/source.list, apt-get source <package>
and continue as normal

You can, but a request for a new version should normally be filed
as a wishlist unless it fixes a security problem when it should be
important.

What features? Jeff will be after me to get the new version of mhonarc
on the slug box so information is useful.
