1. apt is faster with http btw
2. you need to have non-US sources
(e.g.: deb http://orcus.progsoc.org/pub/Linux/debian-non-US potato non-US/main)
3. The ssh package in unstable is OpenSSH 2.x which does the secsh (ssh2)
protocol.
