Are the filenames recognisable, or do they hint what the binary might be?

The only place I get binaries from are ones I put there myself - my
suggestion is delete anything you don't know about, or can't recall.

Alternately, move them to floppy, and keep it for a while until you go
"Damn, I know what that file was now, and I need it". By the time the
floppy stops working, you'll have exceeded the useful life, and it won't
matter. :)
